A data study conducted by Nielsen's Gracenote, analysed the 288 games with fans before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019/2020 and the 345 matches with no attendance in the 2020/2021 campaign.
"Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020," the statement read. "The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.
