It's been almost exactly a year since 21 Savage truly broke out with the release of his joint album with Metro Boomin, Savage Mode. A dark, sinister release from the streets-rooted rapper, he's now exploring much lighter sounds on his new release, as well as new producers.
The album, ISSA, hit streaming services at Midnight and even has 21 attempting r'n'b-pop crossover territory, with the DJ Mustard-produced track "FaceTime".
Although the 14-track effort has a fair amount of explorations and dabbling in less-trap heavy sounds, there's still some haunting/melodic production and typically savage but braggadocio rhyming with "Bank Account." The track, which is apparently self-produced as well, features a strumming guitar line through out and drum intermissions, and thus makes for one of the catchier album cuts.
