It’s been a frustrating series of stops-and-starts for Lil Wayne this year: drop a promising single (“Believe Me,” “D’Usse,” “Krazy,” “Grindin“), only to sneak back into the studio or onto the half pipe, as he admitted himself. Sure, the Drake vs Lil Wayne tour will go down as one of the biggest stories of 2014, but it hasn’t been the Tunechi takeover we were all hoping for in his “retirement” year.

Still, it’s nothing a strong fourth quarter can’t cure. With part one of the double-disc Tha Carter V now scheduled to arrive on December 9 (fingers crossed), Weezy releases “Off Day,” a new song that’s confirmed to appear on his forthcoming final album(s), featuring a guest appearance from Young Money’s Flow (who you may recognize from Dedication 4‘s “Magic Remix“).

Let’s just hope Wayne keeps the ball rolling this time.
