New episode of Professor Johnbull dwells on fertility issues in marriages
Fertility problems among couples are highly emotional and often lead to break-up of many marriages in society. It is no surprise, therefore, that Professor Johnbull, the popular television drama series which has established a reputation for its educational value, has chosen it as the theme of this week's episode of the programme.
The episode, entitled Childless Wives, will seek to bring to the fore the agony of women who face fertility challenges in their marriages.
To effectively dramatise the issue to viewers, a husband and wife who are struggling with childlessness are featured in the episode. What is responsible for their plight? How do they cope with the situation, what are the roles of the regular characters such as Ime Bishop, Queen Nwokoye, and Osita Ihemein the episode?
What is the reaction of Kanayo O. Kanayo, the lead act in the series? Also, what should the public do concerning the plight of women who find it difficult to bear children? Is it only female partners in relationships having fertility problems that are the causes of such problems? Viewers will find answers to these questions in the scholar's submission.
Childless Wives goes beyond the issue of infertility to expose the reasons why 'child-harvesting' centres, otherwise known as baby factories, exist and the negative roles of in-laws in marriages that are challenged by infertility.
