Various reports on social media suggests some unscrupulous members of society decided it was the right time to loot traders and shops due to the pandemonium caused by the inferno which was consuming shops at Balogun Market, Lagos.
Assorted ankara, lace and some curtain materials were destroyed in the inferno. Nothing was left untouched in the affected shops although no one was injured and no life was lost.
The fire reportedly started by 1a.m, however the arrival of firefighters prevented the inferno from spreading to other shops and houses in the vicinity.
