An FCT High Court on Wednesday admitted the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele to bail in the sum of ₦300 million. Emefiele is expected to remain in Kuje Correctional Centre pending when he meets the bail conditions.
In his ruling, Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai'id held that he was minded to accede to the defendant's application for bail. Consequently, he granted the lawmaker bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in the like sum.
Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling on Thomas' bail application, said there was no concrete evidence placed before the court by the prosecution that the defendant would jump bail.
