EPL: Rio Ferdinand names two players Sancho must learn from to succeed at Man Utd

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has insisted that Jadon Sancho must learn from the club's former players, Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic, in order for him to succeed at Old Trafford.

Sancho has endured a difficult start at Man United since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

The England international is yet to settle at Man United and he is typically being deployed on the left when he is given a chance by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus after Sancho added even more competition to the attacking positions at Man United, with the Portugal captain operating through the middle and Mason Greenwood in Sancho's preferred position on the right.

But Ferdinand wants Sancho not to view Ronaldo's arrival at Man United as anything other than a positive, adding that the 21-year-old should follow the examples of Evra and Vidic, who he said didn't perform well when they newly joined the Red Devils.

"He [Sancho] can't look at someone like Ronaldo being in your dressing room, being able to work alongside him [as a negative]," Ferdinand told MailOnline.

"He is, I reckon, the most decisive footballer we have ever seen. His natural habits around the training ground copy his preparation. You have to be a sponge-like that.

"There's no doubting Jadon's ability, no doubting his desire. That's all there. But sometimes when you go to a football club, you need all the other bits of the jigsaw to fit in. And at the moment, they aren't fitting into their perfect places. I think that will come, I think that will be a matter of time.

"Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic are the examples that he needs to lean on and be shown. There are loads of players that came into United and didn't [perform straight away]. Patrice and Nemanja are two great examples from my generation."
