1xBet tells Victor Osimhen's inspiring story.

Victor James Osimhen has graduated from the streets of Lagos to become a Nigerian star player coveted by the biggest names in football. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, on the 29th of December 1998, Victor has an incredible story. He's the sixth child from an impoverished family that moved to Lagos shortly before he was born.

Nobody could have foreseen Victor's meteoric rise to fame as he moved to Napoli in Serie A. He's being followed by top European clubs, notably Chelsea, after spending his younger years facing the boiling hot Lagos sun while his mother was selling sachet water to supplement the family's income. When Victor was old enough to sell water by himself, he started facing money to save for education and help his family.

Victor's first taste of football was when he started studying at The Olusosun Primary School. After the lessons, he spent all his free time playing football with other children from his community. His big brother Andrew had become a football star in the community, where Victor learned to play so well. He subsequently became a Chelsea fan thanks to his brother, and Didier Drogba was his idol. Realizing that Victor was an outstanding footballer, Andrew abandoned his education and started assisting Victor by earning money to follow his dream to become a professional footballer. The sacrifices paid off handsomely when Victor was offered a place at Lagos's prestigious Ultima Strikers Academy.

After an impressive trial and stunning on-field performances, coach Amuneke spotted him and invited him to play in the U-17 Nigerian national team. He started strongly with outstanding performances for the team, drawing the attention of VfL Wolfsburg. As a result, the German football team offered Victor a three-and-a-half-year contract in 2017. He stayed at Wolfsburg for a year before attending summer trials for Club Brugge and Zulte as he prepared to move to Belgium. Unfortunately, he contracted malaria, and which badly impacted his physical condition. He finally moved to Charleroi on a loan deal and scored 20 goals in 36 match appearances.

He moved to Ligue 1 after his initial achievements in the Belgium league and joined Lille in 2019. He spent one season in France, scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances. Serie A scouts noticed his unique skills and goal-scoring abilities, and ever since 2020, Victor has played at Italian Serie A team Napoli. He became Napoli's most expensive transfer ever and proved himself on the pitch by scoring more than 15 goals for the team so far, proving to be a wise investment for the Italian team.

Football experts have dubbed Victor as the most in-demand African football player at present. He continues to showcase his exceptional talent for Napoli and the Nigerian National Team. No wonder the 22-year-old striker is getting attention from Chelsea and several other top clubs in Europe to acquire his services. It's anyone's guess where Victor will play next; however, his future looks bright. As he idolized Didier Drogba, many youngsters from around the globe now admire him!
