Premier League take decision on 'armpit offside' VAR decisions

Premier League clubs remain in favour of the "armpit offsides", as they prepare to discuss their Video Assistant Referee (VAR) survey, the UK Mirror reports.

One club is keen to push for "teams" of officials, as it would help if referees had a regular Video Assistant Referee partner, who they would work with every week.

That may not be realistic as many referees are usually on a rota between roles.

Also, there is not much that can be done on tight offside decisions, as law makers IFAB and FIFA do not favour giving any leeway or tolerance.

Clubs have been asked for their opinions ahead of the Premier League AGM in Harrogate on June 10 on how to improve video technology.

They are likely to discuss whether using the "drawing of the 3D lines" is necessary, as it attracts a lot of criticism from TV pundits and viewers, rather than most foreign leagues and UEFA who simply show the final graphic to show if a player is offside.
