LaLiga investigating Barcelona players over meeting at Messi's house

LaLiga is investigating Lionel Messi and his Barcelona teammates after they held a lunch meeting at the club captain's house earlier this week, Goal reports.

Spanish top-flight officials are trying to establish if the Barca squad breached current COVID-19 rules in place.

The rule states that only groups of up to six people can converge in an indoor or outdoor setting at any time.

Messi hosted a team meeting at his Castelldefels residence on Monday, ahead of this weekend's crunch fixture against Atletico Madrid.

But the players are now facing sanctions if they are found guilty of flouting social distancing protocols.

However, many of the players who attended Messi's get-together with their partners sat on separate tables in the garden area.
