EPL: Man Utd refuses to pay Cavani £2 million to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United could have trouble offloading Edinson Cavani this summer, because of a newly revealed contract stipulation.

The UK Mirror reports United would have to pay the Uruguay striker £2 million if he leaves Old Trafford at the end of this season, even if they want him to remain.

The pay-out clause in Cavani’s contract might give the Red Devils second thoughts about letting the player cut his two-year deal short.

Cavani is believed to be pushing for a move to Boca Juniors.

The 34-year-old’s father cast doubt over his future with United last month, when he claimed his son was unhappy in England and would not be staying for a second season.

Earlier this week, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, admitted Cavani has not yet made up his mind about his future.
