Arteta to play Willian in new position as Brazilian undergoes Arsenal medicals

Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta, intends to play Willian in a central position next season, the UK Mirror reports.

Willian has already confirmed his Chelsea exit and is believed to have undergone his medicals with the Gunners.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, the 32-year-old was mostly used as a right winger.

However, Willian's always felt that he was used incorrectly and that his best position is in a more central role behind the striker.

Arteta clearly agrees and plans on using Willian in a no.10 role next term.

While the length of Arsenal's contract offer is believed to have been key in Willian's move to the Emirates, Arteta's plans for him have clearly influenced his thinking.

He will however take a slight salary cut from his £120,000-a-week deal with Chelsea to earn around £100,000-a-week at the Emirates.
