FIFA confirm World Cup schedule for Qatar 2022 World Cup (see date and venue)

World champions France will start the defense of their 2018 World Cup title in Qatar in November 2022 after FIFA released the fixtures of how the tournament will be.

The world football governing body in their release made it clear that the 2022 competition will start on November 21 in which the host nation Qatar are expected to play the first match.

Qatar in their history have never made it to the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup and they may want to impress their their people by fighting for the title.

According to FIFA, the first match of the 2022 World Cup will be played at the 60,000-seat capacity Al Bayt Stadium, while the final of the tournament will be at Lusail.

But there are some latest development FIFA made ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in which four games will be played in a day in the group stages.

The early games will kick off at 1 p.m. local time, with the fourth match starting at 10 p.m. local time and finishing just before midnight.

"When we talk about the stadiums, more than 85 per cent of the work has been completed and really now, the last two years, we're focusing on our operational readiness and making sure we get the fan experience plans in place," Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the Qatar World Cup organising company explained.
