Messi calls top Inter Milan star to snub Man United and move to Barcelona

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi had reportedly called Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in his efforts to convince his fellow countryman to move to the Camp Nou this summer.

This latest development is according to Racing's president of youth football Adrian Ruben Fernandez who claimed that a move for Martinez to Barcelona is close.

Chiefs at the Nou Camp have being eyeing a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez since last summer in which they are still planning to go for his signature.

According to the report on Goal, Adrian Ruben Fernandez is the one who spotted Lautaro Martinez's potentials then when he was young before moving up to his zenith.

"Messi called him and wants him by his side soon, I have no doubt. For that reason, the deal to sign him is almost there.

"I know things will go well in Barcelona and that Lautaro will be an excellent replacement for Suarez. He's the ideal heir. Thanks to Barca he will continue to grow as a player and a man.

"In terms of Argentine players, he has the same qualities as Sergio Aguero. I think he's on that path and will have a successful career like him,'' Fernadez told Sport.

Lautaro Martinez spent four years at Racing before he moved to Italy and he is one of the best players Antonio Conte is using at Inter Milan.
