Revealed: Here is the huge pay cut Neymar will receive if he forces Barcelona return

The Brazilian play maker will be forced to take a £26m-a-year pay cut if he hopes to return to Barcelona after regretting a move to Ligue 1 side PSG according to SunSport.

Neymar left the La Liga club in 2017 to join the French champions, but he has continued to express his desire to return to Spain.

He is now faced with two choices; either he accepts a heavy pay cut and then return to Barcelona or he continues with his mouthwatering €700,000-a-week contract with PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered the ex-Barca man a new deal worth £33m-a-year which does not include the £12m-a-year he bags as the face of the National Bank of Qatar.

It was gathered that the bank has ties with the Qataris who own PSG and will end at the same time as any PSG departure.

However, Barca have stated that they can only afford around £19m-a-season for the player, just around what he earned before leaving for the French club

Final decision is now in Neymar's hands as he has to choose between the £45m-a-year on the table in France or £19m-a-year and a great deal more happiness at the Nou Camp.

The 28-year-old has just two years left in his contract with PSG and he is desperate in leaving the club.

Neymar is reportedly preparing for a sensational return to Barcelona as the Catalan club are doing everything to ensure the Brazilian returns to the Camp NouLate.

Despite interests from other top European clubs, the player has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona, however in the wake of the coronavirus, the transfer fee will be a lot less.

A representative of Neymar said: "We have never spoken about a return to Barcelona.

"For the moment, our only concern is with the coronavirus.

"We think the summer will be calm. Honestly, we are not talking about [a move] at this moment.

"Neither an extension with PSG, nor moving elsewhere."
