Despite playing together for 6 years, Eto'o leaves Messi out as he names his best ever teammate

African legend Samuel Eto'o has disclosed that Cote d'Ivoire's Yaya Youre is the best teammate he has ever played with apart from Lionel Messi, Goal reports.

The four-time Africa footballer of the Year played alongside Messi between 2004 and 2009 during his spell at Catalan club Barcelona but says Toure is an unbelievable midfielder.

Eto'o also over looked Wesley Sneijder despite the duo winning treble at Italian giants Inter Milan in the 2009-2010 season when they won three major titles - the Champions League, Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

"Messi, Iniesta, Deco, Ronaldinho, Yaya Toure. It's difficult to pick one. Apart from Messi? ...Yaya Toure," Eto'o told Goal.

"He (Yaya) is an incredible central midfielder one of the very best that the world has seen, and I was lucky enough to play with him.

Yaya Toure shone like a star at Barcelona between 2007 and 2010.

Eto'o added that another player he has ever played with is Nigeria's Jay Jay

"Two of the greatest African players I've ever played with are Yaya Toure and Jay Jay Okocha," he added.
