Real Madrid slam staggering £431m on superstar who is heavily wanted by Manchester United

Real Madrid have reportedly told Manchester United to pay a staggering £431 million for their star Raphael Varane this summer.

The Red Devils have been trying to sign the 2018 World Cup winning defender even before the departure of former boss, Jose Mourinho last December.

They will however contend with the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for the tall defender.

According to SunSport, Los Blancos are not planning to allow their player leave except if his release clause will be triggered by interested clubs.

Though, reports coming from the player's camp reveals that the center back is considering a fresh challenge away from his present club having won every available trophies with them.

The Sun quoting AS claim Zinedine Zidane is planning to build his backline around the Frenchman after staging a return to the Santiago Bernabeu last month.

Varane's current deal with Real elapses in the summer of 2022, while his present take home stands at £5 million per annum.

However, the Galaticos are hoping to offer him fresh deal with an improved deal valued at nearly £8m a year.

Varane moved to Madrid from Lens in 2011 as a teenager under ex-boss Jose Mourinho, and has won two La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, a Copa del Rey and four FIFA Club World Cups.

He became the only player to lift both the Champions League and FIFA World Cup titles in 2018.
