Manchester United legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson will resume training with the team after accepting an offer from caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

The Scotsman will be at Carrington to help the interim manager prepare the Red Devils for their weekend game against Bournemouth at Old Tafford.

It is understood that the 76-year-old had a big say among United's hierarchy in appointing the Norwegian on loan from Molde until the end of the season after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

And Solksjaer has hailed Ferguson's huge influence on him as a player and a coach when he returned to Old Trafford this month.

The 45-year-old is determined to bring back the attacking style of play and continue the club's traditions of bringing young players from the academy.Solskjaer said:

"I have been in touch with the gaffer quite a bit.

"I don't know what input he had but when I got the call, of course, I texted the boss.

"I am going to enjoy a nice cup of tea back at his house andsit down to discuss a few ideas. There's no-one better to get advice from.

"I had the best teacher. The boss is and will always be the best, so my management involves around what I learned from him."

The Norwegian will be looking to make it three wins out of three when Eddie Howie's side pay a visit to the Theatre of Dreams.

Striker Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchezhave been made available for selection for the crunch fixture against the Cherries.Lukaku was on compassionate leave in the last two matches while Sanchez has fully recovered from a hamstring injury that kept him out since the end of November.

Martial on the other hand, missed the Boxing Day win against Huddersfield due to illness but was on target against Cardiff City in Solksjaer's first game in charge.
