How Chelsea rejected £65m from Barcelona for star midfielder as Manchester United remain keen

Premier League side Chelsea rejected an offer of £65million from Barcelona for their Brazilian winger, Willian, The Sun quoting Daily Star.

The Spanish champions have had several bids rejected for the 29-year-old who scored the Blues winner in the Europa League match against PAOK.

The Catalan giants opted to sign another Brazilian, Malcolm, who was bound for a move to Roma.

However, Willian who once said he would leave the London club if Antonio Conte remained manager at Stamford Bridge, says he is very happy playing under Maurizio Sarri.

He said: "I am very happy. I was always happy at Chelsea.
"I don't want to talk about the past. I am happy with the new manager and profile of football.
"I think we have a great team atmosphere and we can do everything to win titles."

Manchester United also remain interested in the play-maker who are managed by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils were also linked to the midfielder who are managed by his former boss Jose manager.

And Willian admitted he would love to work with the Portuguese manager before calling it quits with football.

He added: "Mourinho is the best manager I've ever worked with.
"We have a good relationship, we are friends.
"Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp.
"He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday."
