Mesut Ozil's agent blasts Kroos, 2 other Germany superstar over racism claims

Mesut Ozil's agent has reportedly lashed out at Germany trio of Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller after the Arsenal star decided to quit international football.
The 29-year-old announced his retirement from national team football after his country crashed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Sunsport reports that Real Madrid star Kroos described the allegations made by Ozil as " a lot of nonsense " while Bayern Munich duo Neuer and Muller have also poured scorn on their former team-mate's struggles.

The Gunners attacker was heavily criticised in his home country in the build-up to Russia 2018 after being pictured meeting Turkey president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
And now his agent Erkut Sogut has spoken out against the public stance of the three players, which has left Ozil feeling isolated and without the support of all his international colleagues.

Sogut told German magazine 11Freunde: " Neuer indirectly accused Mesut of not having worn the German jersey with pride. This is unacceptable.

"Müller did not understand the whole discussion. And Kroos, as a seasoned national team player, should explain what he means by 'nonsense' .

"There are only two explanations: they are either naive or scheming. "
Muller's reaction to Ozil's statement was to claim that for German players " the whole issue never was as big as it was made out to be" .

The forward, along with Kroos and national team boss Joachim Low then came out to insist there was no racist behaviour withing the team.

But Sogut added: "Low defends himself against an accusation that has never actually been made. Mesut has not been racially abused from within the team but from the midst of German society .

"The German football association should have been more protective in this case .
"Mesut did not make any mistakes, that's how it stays. It is just a matter of respect and courtesy to agree to meet the president of Turkey when he requests it .
"The two of them have met regularly over the past eight years. It has never been a problem before for the German public .
"Should we tell Mesut: 'You cannot meet with the president - but maybe in two months' time'? That really does not make any sense. "
