Michelle Rodriguez who plays Letty, the love interest of Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto character on the Fast and Furious franchise has spoken out about her future in the franchise.
The Fast and Furious franchise is preparing for their ninth and tenth movies and Michelle has spoken out about the roles of the women in the franchise. She has played the role of Letty Ortiz in six "Fast" films to date, and she had to push to even get as much screen time and activity as she's had while also pushing for the other women of the franchise, and they all benefit.
The actress took to Instagram on Tuesday and announced that she was prepared to leave the franchise if the next installment doesn't bring women more into the spotlight.
She wrote on Instagram, "F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It's been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years... One Love."
Speaking during EW's spotlight on the women of Fast & Furious, Michelle Rodriguez said "I've been making movies with Jordana, who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I've had to say to her," "
"I think that's pathetic and it's lack of creativity."
"Fast 9" is scheduled for April 19, 2019 and "Fast 10" is scheduled for April 2, 2021.
