Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen, dies of cancer

Paul Allen, who co-founded Microsoft, has died aged 65 from complications of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.


Allen co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates at age 22.

He had tweeted two weeks ago, announcing that the disease, which he battled in 2009 had returned.


He wrote ;


"Some personal news: Recently, I learned the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma I battled in 2009 has returned.


I've begun treatment & my doctors are optimistic that I will see a good result. Appreciate the support I've received & count on it as I fight this challenge,"


His Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said: "I am heartbroken by the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends... Personal computing would not have existed without him."
