Ebuehi replaces Ndidi in Super Eagles squad for friendlies

Tyronne Ebuehi will replace Wilfred Ndidi in Nigeria's squad for the October's friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia.

Ndidi was included in the initial 25-man squad, with Ebuehi listed on standby.

However, the Leicester City midfielder picked up an injury in their 4-2 win over Burnley. He is now ruled out of the two fixtures.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernor Rohr, has now confirmed his replacement.

"Tyronne will replace Ndidi in our team from the standby," Rohr told ESPN.

Rohr however admitted that Ndidi, who is expected to be unavailable for up to 12 weeks, will be missed in his midfield.

"We will miss him so much. I have spoken to him, of course. He must be patient now and take his time to get well," the German added.

Ebuehi last featured for Nigeria against Iceland during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
