Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho keen on Manchester United star Jesse Lingard as midfielder plots Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talks

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United star Jesse Lingard after he was left out of their defeat to Crystal Palace.

The midfielder didn't even make the bench for the game at Old Trafford as the Red Devils were beaten 3-1.

Sergio Reguilon has signed on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, while Gareth Bale has returned to the club on a season-long loan.

Spanish left-back Reguilon cost around £27million, while Spurs will pay Real around 40 per cent of Bale's £600,000 per week wages.

Manager Jose Mourinho is still set to make more signings and Lingard, according to the Daily Star, may be one of them.

Lingard being left out by Man United is a continuation of last season where the England international, who has 24 caps, was frozen out and barely featured until the very end of the campaign.

This early snub in 2020/21, though, could finally force him out of his boyhood club and believe he wants showdown talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

If these don't go well then former boss Jose Mourinho may be able to provide an escape route with a £30million fee reported as a possibility.
