Champions League: How Real Madrid players reacted to Barcelona's 8-2 defeat to Bayern

Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, has revealed that his team-mates celebrated in their WhatsApp group, following Bayern Munich's 8-2 win over their Spanish rivals Barcelona.

Barca were dumped out of the Champions League in the quarter-final stages last week thanks to the humiliating defeat.

Kroos says there was little sympathy from Los Blancos, who won the LaLiga title ahead of the Catalans.

Speaking on his podcast, the German said: "You could not show everything (in public), but you can imagine there was no mourning them. There was a lot of Schadenfreude."

Kroos also admitted it was not the first time Real players jubilated over a Barcelona defeat.

According to him, they also celebrated when Lionel Messi and co threw away a 4-1 lead over Roma in the Champions League two years ago.

Kroos claims the "players ran up and down outside his room screaming."
