Champions League: Lampard singles out one player as Bayern Munich eliminate Chelsea

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has singled out defender, Reece James, for praise following his side's exit from the Champions League on Saturday night at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Lampard said James gave an incredible individual performance against Bayern.

Lampard's men trailed 3-0 from the Champions League last-16 first leg at Stamford Bridge back in February.

The Blues were also defeated 4-1 in the second leg at the Allianz Arena, thanks to two goals from Robert Lewandowski and a goal each from Ivan Perisic and Corentin Tolisso.

However, the Bundesliga champions qualified for the last-8 ahead of Chelsea on 7-1 aggregate.

"We did with two goals, which is obviously disappointing but want to focus on the resilience and performance levels of a lot of players in the team.

"A good exercise for us today. Reece James gave an incredible individual performance. I can see where I want us to go. We conceded disappointing goals from individual errors. We'll be back," Lampard was quoted by Football London as saying after the match.
