Arsenal midfielder, Ozil turns down offer to join new club

Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, has turned down an offer from Fenerbahce to join the Turkish giants.

We recall that Ozil had drawn the interest of Fenerbahce in the past.

According to Bild, Ozil, who has fallen out of favour at Arsenal, is keen to fight for his spot at Emirates and has reportedly rejected the idea of joining Fenerbahce, who weren't able to match his current wage of around £350,000.

Ozil has not featured for Arsenal since the Premier League restart.

The former Real Madrid star has made just 18 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, slipping out of favour under the Gunners manager, Mikel Arteta.

The ex-Germany international did not also feature in Arsenal's Premier League 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Ozil's current contract at Arsenal will expire in the summer of 2021.
