EPL: Why Ighalo can't replace Rashford, Martial in Man Utd's starting line-up - Amokachi

Daniel Amokachi, a former Super Eagles forward has pointed out why Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo can't replace Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in Manchester United's starting line-up.

Amokachi disclosed that Ighalo can't replace Rashford and Martial because United bought him as a backup striker.

He made the assertion while speaking with Brila FM.

Amokachi stated that with Rashford's return from injury, Ighalo who once played for Watford will remain on the bench.

He said: "Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua as a back up to then injured Rashford. Now, Rashford is back from injury and so Ighalo has to take a back seat again.

"We cannot expect him to have more playing time than the likes of Rashford and Anthony Martial because he is only a back up there."

Since joining Manchester United from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua, the former Super Eagles player has scored five goals and provided one assist in all competition.

Ighalo had joined Manchester United during the January transfer from Chinese Super League.
