Chelsea 'tell' top Man United star to leave Old Trafford for a move to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have reportedly plotted an ambitious transfer for Man United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer.

Henderson has enjoyed a significant rise to prominence at Sheffield United where he is currently on loan from United.

The shot-stopper has been a mainstay figure at Bramall Lane, forming a major part of Sheffield's success in the Premier League since their promotion to the top-flight.

His impressive performances have seen Chelsea enter the race to sign the Englishman as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad.

The Blues' interest has seen the club locked in a massive signing war with United for the future England No. 1.

It is understood Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to extend Henderson's stay at the Red Devils, wit talks over a contract extension already underway.

However, SunSport reports United are in danger of losing the shot-stopper to Stamford Bridge given Chelsea are ready to splash money.

The west London club looks to offer Henderson game-time in the Champions League next term in an attempt to swing the tug of war their way.

That experience is primed to boost his chances of becoming England's first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the delayed Euro 2020.

Chelsea's interest in him came just days after they landed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The German striker is due to move to Stamford Bridge at the end of their Bundesliga season.
