Sad day in Africa as top footballer drowns and dies in Europe 5 months after entering

Ghanaian football fraternities have been thrown into serious mourning following the death of young striker Adom Ibrahim who died after drowning in the swimming pool.

The prayers of all young footballers in Africa is to one day leave the continent for a move to Europe where they can play for bigger clubs and make more money for themselves.

Many African players are currently playing for top teams in Europe with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane making their nations and people proud while playing for Liverpool.

This was the thought of young Ghanaian player Adom Ibrahim when he left Ghana five months ago with the hope of him getting to the zenith of his career in Europe.

But he never knew that his dreams of playing at the top will not be fulfilled.

Ibrahim joined Hobro IK from third-tier Accra Sporting Club in January on a three-year deal, but found unconscious in a swimming pool on Monday, June 15.

Accra Sporting Club President Fiifi Parker Hanson has described the death of Ibrahim as a shocking one adding that he is still battling with the heartbreaking news.

"The loss of Adom will be painfully felt by our club, supporters and indeed all who ever had the pleasure of knowing him.

We love you Adom and your memory will eternally stay with us,'' Hanson explained according to Ghana soccernet.
