WWE legend suffers serious injury during 'greatest wrestling match ever', set to be out for 8 months

WWE legendary star Edge is staring at up to eight months on the sidelines after he reportedly suffered a horrific injury at WWE Backlash.

Edge is understood to have suffered a torn tricep during his bout against Randy Orton dubbed the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever."

His injury came just months after he made a sensational return to the ring at the Royal Rumble after years of inaction following a neck injury back in 2011.

How Bray Wyatt rose to the limelight During his return, the 46-year-old fought Orton at Wrestlemania 36, defeating the Vipers before he was challenged to face him again on Sunday night, June 14.

UGC SunSport reports the epic clash lived up to its billing, with fans being treated to a 40-minute of nothing but absolute entertainment.

However, it was a double tragedy for Edge who not only lost the fight, but also picked a career-threatening injury.

According to reports, Edge, real name Adam Copeland, the injury could potentially rule him out of a trilogy fight with Orton at SummerSlam.

It is believed he tore his tricep, but the severity of the injury is yet to be determined.
