The Premier League is scheduled to make a return to action for the first time in nearly three months on Wednesday, June 17.

The English top-flight, like majority of sporting activities was put on hold due to the global outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

But after weeks of inaction, the league is set to resume, with the remaining 92 matches of the 2019/20 campaign primed to be played behind closed doors.

Fans will be treated to an Aston Villa vs Sheffield United early kick-off before Arsenal take on Man City in the second fixture at Emirates.

With the title race all but settled, there is still plenty to play for, with a number of clubs angling to finish on a high.

Liverpool are topping the charts with 82 points, 25 above second-placed and defending champions Man City.

Leicester City look to qualify for the Champions League as they sit third with 53 points, five above Chelsea who are down in fourth.

There are just five points separating fifth-placed Man United and Arsenal who are ninth setting pace for a gruelling top four battle.

New boys Sheffield United are perhaps the surprise package in the race for clubs to seal a European slot as they sit seventh on the log with 43 points.

However, they could leapfrog Man United to fifth as they have a game in hand against Newcastle on Sunday, June 21.

Spurs occupy eighth place with 41 points, with Burnley completing the top half at 10th with 39 points.

The relegation battle is also set to go down to the wire, with up to five clubs battling for survival. There are just four points separating West Ham in 15th and Aston Villa in 19th.

Norwich City are sitting bottom of the log with 21 points and face the prospect of dropping to the Championship just one season after their promotion.
