Heartbreak for Man United, Arsenal as Supercomputer predicts Premier League final outcome

A supercomputer has predicted the final outcome of the Premier League table ahead of the resumption of the 2019/20 campaign.

The EPL has been on suspension since March following the global outbreak of coronavirus pandemic that also affected a number of sporting activities.

But with the league set to return this June, preparations among clubs are in top gear as teams look to finish the season on a high.

With the winner of the title all but settled, the actual battleground has been shifted to the race for the top four.

Sporting Index based their research on goals scored and points won by each club in the final games from the previous five seasons.

But Chelsea, who sit fourth and Man United seem to be the two teams who could go head-to-head for a slot in the Champions League, with only three points separating the two sides.

And according to a survey by betting firm Sporting Index, fans are in for a thrilling battling that could see a number of top teams suffer an upset.

The firm, basing their research on each team's final results from the past five seasons contend Chelsea will nonetheless seal a place in the top four, with United dropping out.

Instead, the Red Devils are primed to finish sixth with 60 points, with new boys Sheffield United finishing above them in fifth.

Arsenal are set for a seventh finish, followed by Wolves in eighth even as Spurs under Jose Mourinho and Crystal Palace complete the top 10 list.

In the relegation battle, Sporting Index predicts Aston Villa and Norwich City will drop to the Championship alongside Watford.
