Transfer: Ander Herrera reveals Cavani's next move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Ander Herrera, has insisted that fellow teammate, Edinson Cavani, wants to play for a La Liga club in Spain once his current contract at Parc des Princes expires at the end of June.

Cavani is expected to leave PSG this summer after failing to agree on a new contract extension with the French Ligue 1 champions.

The 33-year-old has fallen out of favour under manager, Thomas Tuchel, in recent times, since the arrival of striker, Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan.

"I know Cavani wants to play in Spain," Herrera told AS.

"He loves the league [[La Liga] and the country. He asks me about it a lot.

"However, since we left Paris [after the season was concluded] I have not spoken to him about his situation."

Cavani joined PSG from Napoli in 2013 and has since become the club's all-time top scorer with 200 goals to his name in 300 appearances.

The Uruguay international has drawn the interest of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Inter Milan in the past.
