Tension as former Man United superstar diagnosed with terrible illness amid COVID-19

Paris Saint Germain forward Angel Di Maria appears to have suffered mental health while on coronavirus lockdown.

The former Manchester United winger is said to be battling insomnia and depression according to the report from one of the club's doctors and his wife.

SunSport quoting Le Parisien through GFFN claim that the Argentine's spouse Jorgelina Cardoso is worried about her husband's irregular sleeping patterns since football went on vacation.

The cancellation of the league was said to have played a key role in the ex-Real Madrid's new style of sleeping according to his wife.

Though, the Parisians have been crowned Ligue 1 champions since they could not continue due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

However, the player's condition is expected to continue with football not ready to return in the European country until September.

The former Real Madrid star has been on lockdown with his family since football actions were suspended three months ago.

Di Maria and Cardoso made an appearance on a TV station in Argentina speaking about their difficulties during the isolation period.

Speaking to Telefe, she stated: "He is not feeling right.

"I am with the girls all morning to do their schoolwork over the internet.

"I leave him with them for a bit in the afternoon.

"He can no longer bear it. But the only thing we can do is stay inside so that it ends quickly."

Di Maria last kicked a ball in anger almost three months ago and is unable to train properly until PSG can plan for the Champions League quarter-finals.

He admitted back in March: "We are isolated.

"We have been inside for 14 days, twelve since the president declared this quarantine.

"We only went out once to go to the supermarket. We try to stay at home so as not to catch it. We have very young daughters.

The situation is frightening. This is completely crazy."
