Nigerian top star sparks up transfer war between Arsenal and 1 other European giant

Nigeria's most informed striker in Europe at the moment Victor Osimhen has reportedly emerged as a top transfer target for Arsenal this summer.

The 21-year-old has been superb for his French League side Lille since he joined them from Sporting Charleroi in a deal around €12 million last August.

Osimhen never wasted any time to show the quality he's made of after netting 18 goals and six assists in 38 appearances across competitions in the 2019-20 season.

His impressive performance has drawn top European managers to his attention with Napoli also showing interest in the 2019 AFCON bronze medal winner.

SunSport quoting La Repubblica claim that Gennaro Gattuso's side is comfortable enough to land the Nigerian youngster despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis feels confident enough to compete with the Premier League side for the striker.

Reports reveal that Lille have slapped a price fee of about £50 million and that might be an issue for the Gunners.

The north Londoners are said to still owe the French a huge sum from the Nicolas Pepe deal last summer.

The Frenchman became Arsenal's record signing in a deal around £72m, And the fee has been structured into instalments over a period of years.

Since they failed to beat the Premier League side to Pepe's signature, Napoli are doing their best to lure the Nigerian star to Italy in the coming months.

Arsenal are plotting to bring the Super Eagles star to the Emirates Stadium as a replacement for want-away star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The youngster recently lost his dad.
