Morecambe defender Christian Mbulu on Tuesday, May 26, passed away.

The 23-year-old who once had a stint with Motherwell FC started his very short career at Millwall before playing for Brentwood, Braintree and Crewe Alexandria.

Mbulu who was born in London recently signed for Morecambe in January 2020 after spending a very short time at Crewe.

His club Morecambe described the youngster as an extremely popular member of the squad, adding that news of his death came in as a shock to everyone at the club.

Mbulu spent one season with Motherwell after joining from Millwall in 2018, and made six league appearances during his time at Fir Park.

"We are shocked to hear of the news of Christian's death," Motherwell chairman Jim McMahon said.

"He was such a friendly, pleasant young man who we loved having around Fir Park.

"Our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time."

And this is coming barely 24 hours that Premier League champions Manchester City confirmed the death of their legend Glyn Pardoe who lost his life at the age of 73 after long battle with serious illness.

Pardoe would always be remembered by those at the Etihad stadium for been the youngest player ever to play for the Citizens at the age of 15.

In 1968, Glyn Pardoe's impressive performances helped Manchester City to win the League title and also scored the winner in the League Cup final two years later.

The Englishman spent his entire football career at Manchester City between the year 1962 to 1976 where he played over 300 games for the Citizens.

Pardoe kicked off his career as a forward, usually playing on the left despite being right-footed.

He retired from playing football in 1976 and took up a role in the coaching staff at Manchester City where he was until the year 1992.
