Good news for fans as Champions League and Europa League return date finally revealed

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has revealed that this season Champions League and Europa League campaigns will be concluded by August.

According to Ceferin, there is no confirm date for the resumption of Europe's elite competitions but the football governing body expects at least 80% of national leagues to finish their seasons before re-starting the competition, The Guardian reports.

"We have an idea but we have to wait for the executive committee of Uefa to confirm the dates.

I can say that the European season will be finished, if everything is as it is now, in August," Ceferin told beIN Sports.

Both the Champions League and Europa League are yet to complete their last-16 matches as only Atletico Madrid and PSG have booked their places in the quarterfinal.

Atletico Madrid booked their place in the last eight after beating defending champions Liverpool home and away with a 5-2 aggregate score line.

On the other hand, PSG bounce back from a 2-1 first leg defeat to beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in France and subsequently qualify to the next round with a 3-2 aggregate win.
