Tension as Premier League star robbed at knifepoint by armed men who left him injured

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was on Wednesday morning, May 13, robbed at knifepoint after a burglary incident at his north London home.

Two knife-wielding men are understood to have broken into Alli's home where he is spending lockdown with four others among them his brother and sister.

According to BBC Sports citing authorities, Alli was threatened and punched in the face during the incident, suffering minor injuries during the scuffle.

"Police were called at approximately 00:35 BST on Wednesday 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address," a police statement said.

"Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

Two male occupants at the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted.

They did not require hospital treatment," the statement added.

Metropolitan Police have since launched a manhunt for the aggressors but no arrests have been made thus far.

It is said the Spurs star has already handed the police CCTV footage capturing the incident that saw him lose valuables including jewellery.

The England international later took to social media to confirm he is all fine after the "horrible experience."

"Thank you for all the messages.

Horrible experience but we're all okay now. Appreciate the support," Alli tweeted.

The robbery comes just two months after the family of Alli's teammate Jan Vertonghen suffered a similar fate while he was away on Champions League duty with Tottenham.
