Good news as Premier League reveals plans to show matches for free (see details)

A few numbers of Premier League matches could be streamed live and for free on YouTube when the 2019-20 restarts in a matter of weeks.

The English topflight has been on hold since the middle of March due to the deadly coronavirus currently ravaging the world.

According to Daily Mail, the organisers have proposed to show the remaining 92 games on Sky Sports, BT Sport, and YouTube and this is expected to last seven weeks from when it is restarted.

This measure is considered to ensure that fans catch a glimpse of every action on the pitch since they will not be allowed into match venues in a bid to further stop the spread of COVID-19.

The publication reports that most of the fixtures will beam live on Sky Sports and BT Sport, who hold the bulk of the existing broadcasting rights.

However, YouTube was brought into the equation because they are not planning to put any live match on terrestrial television as reported by The Sun.

The last Premier League game that was beamed live was between Manchester United and Swansea City on the opening day of the 2013-14 season and it was on Sky Sports.

Also, Crystal Palace against Arsenal at Selhurst Park showed live for fans BT Sport for free and this could be repeated this season.

According to plans, EPL clubs are back in training on May 12 while the first round of matches after resumption takes place on June 12.

All remaining games will be played behind closed doors and they are also making plans to avoid playing two matches concurrently to ensure maximum TV coverage.

Of the 92 games left this season, Sky Sports has 39 matches left to air and BT Sport eight under the current deal.
