Atletico Madrid and England international charged by FA, could be banned for 4 months

Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier has been charged by the Football Association for breaking betting rules and he is now facing the possibility of being banned for from football. 

The Football Association accused the England international of placing a bet related to his move to Atletico Madrid from Premier League side Tottenham. 

Kieran Trippier joined Atletico Madrid in July last year in what was a big move for the 29-year-old English defender. 

According to the report on Daily Mail, Kieran Trippier has been give until May 18 to appeal the accusation of faces big suspension from soccer. 

Recently, Daniel Sturridge was found guilty of breaching the betting rules and was given a four-month ban from playing football. 

Trippier could get similar punishment if he is later found guilty of what he has been accused of doing. 

''I have fully complied with FA's investigation on voluntary basis and continue to do so. 

''While a professional footballer, I have at no stage placed football related bets or received financial benefit from others betting,''. the England international explained.
