Premier League fans could make a return to stadiums sooner than expected despite coronavirus threat, all thanks to CleanTech - sanitising pods developed for a Hong Kong exhibition centre.
Action is yet to resume in the English for weeks now following the global outbreak of coronavirus pandemic that saw sporting activities grounded.
But reports suggest plans are now underway to ensure the resumption of the 2019/20 campaign, but under stringent measures.
The guidelines include matches being played behind closed doors without presence of fans to curb the spread of the virus.
However, a new invention of sanitising pods could be key to having that measure lifted and fans allowed back into stadiums.
The Sun reports the virus-busting technology is a three-in-one disinfection machine which sees individuals walk through a pod before gaining entry into the venue.
Fans would first be required to stand in front of a screen and get their temperature checked, with those with higher temperatures not allowed to go any further.
Those approved to have recommended temperatures will be let to carry on to the "Sanitising Tunnel" which has a combination of UV light and an air-sanitising and purification spray used to kill off any other germs on clothes or belongings.
The technology is already in line to be used for events at the AsiaWorld-Expo centre.
