Ex-Real Madrid star attacks Barcelona legend Lionel Messi

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has branded Barcelona legend Lionel Messi provocative" and "rude".

The 47-year-old joined Real Madrid shortly after winning the Champions League title with the Reds in 2005.

And this gives him the chance to see the Argentine forward at a closer range during the El Clasicos for about four seasons. Dudek won one La Liga (2007-08), a Copa del Rey (2010-11), and one Spanish Super Cup titles before hanging his gloves afterward.

The former Polish goalkeeper in his autobiography Dudek as quoted by SunSport said: "He (Messi) was deceptive and provocative, the same as Barcelona and Pep Guardiola.

"That hurt Jose Mourinho and the whole team a lot. "I saw Messi say such rude things to Pepe and [Sergio] Ramos that you would not imagine from such a quiet and seemingly good person."

Dudek also took a swipe at former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul, saying: "Cristiano Ronaldo is arrogant, but he's a normal guy behind the scenes.

"It's about how people perceive him, more or less. "Like Raul, he's egocentric, incredibly competitive and a winner.

"Both would prefer their team to win 2-1 with their goals than 5-0 with other players scoring."

The rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona under Guardiola and Mourinho was clearly electrifying, and clearly there is still no love lost between those involved.

During one particularly bad-tempered affair in 2011 a poor challenge from Marcelo sparked a row - with Mourinho bizarrely poking Tito Vilanova in the eye from behind.
