Tension at Stamford Bridge as Borussia Dortmund lure Manchester United major target with staggering offer

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have offered Manchester United and Chelsea target Jadon Sancho a mouthwatering £167,000-a-week for him to stay back, according to SunSport.

If the deal pulls through, Sancho would become the second highest paid star at the club behind Marco Reus and on a par with Mats Hummels.

The 20-year-old has been spectacular this season having netted 17 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions before the suspension of all football leagues due to the coronavirus crisis.

Sancho was valued at £100million before the pandemic, and that was huge for a player who left Manchester City in 2018 for almost nothing.

German outlet Bild reports that Dortmund are keen on keeping the star because he may not be worth that amount any longer, no thanks to the negative impact of the lockdown crisis.

Manchester United and Chelsea are among top clubs that are jostling for the signature of the player who is believed to have a great future ahead of him.

If he joins Chelsea, he will need to compete with Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right side, if Frank Lampard did convince him to sign.

It was also gathered that Sancho and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford are good friends, another reason he might consider the Old Trafford side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping the Rashford connection can help convince Sancho to sign for the club, where previously-emerging talents like Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and even Mason Greenwood are continuing to make the step-up to first-team football.
