Reason Ronaldo was left out of Juventus vs Brescia game finally revealed (it's worth it)

Cristiano Ronaldo was out of action as Juventus demolished relegation-threatened side Brescia 2-0 but Juve boss Maurizio Sarri has disclosed there is no cause for alarm.

The Old Lady were on the run of riot on their visitors on Sunday, February 16, at Allianz Arena with both Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado filling the void for the absent Portuguese talisman.

Dybala handed Juve an early first-half lead in the 38th minute while Cuadrado doubled it in the second half through a perfect 75th minute finishing.

The victory saw the Old Lady extend their league lead, though with 1 point above second position occupier Lazio.

Sarri has now explained the reason behind Ronaldo's absence, saying the Portuguese sought to be rested for the game.

Ronaldo has been pivotal to Juventus' enviable campaign run this season, scoring in all his last ten games to sit behind Lazio's Ciro Immobile as the second league top scorer.

With 20 league goals and 2 assists, the former Real Madrid star is also a contender for the European Golden boots award at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Juventus have a busy schedule of fixtures ahead of them in the coming weeks as they will be slugging it out with Lyon for their first leg of Champions League last 16 tie on February 26.

The Bianconeri will also be back on the league against AC Milan in a title-deciding match scheduled for March 1.
