Meet the young man who made UEFA ban Man city from Champions League seasons

Rui Pinto is believed to be the man behind Man City's ban from the Champions League after the hacker gained access into the club emails.

The 31-year-old Portuguese exposed City's shady Financial Fair Play mails to the media which has seen him being sent to prison since 2019 as he awaits his trail.

Pinto was denied an appeal on Thursday, 13 February, 2020, and is set to face 90 different count charge after uncovering top sides and players from around Europe.

He has been in jail since March 2019 after being accused of hacking sabotage and fraud, as he awaits a verdict by the Lisbon Court of Appeal.

The modest Portuguese worker's action has resulted into UEFA into slamming a hefty £25million fine on City and a two-season ban from Europe's elite competition.

Following UEFA's ban in City, fans took to social media to show solidarity for Pinto in the city of Lisbon.

Pinto who created Football Leaks in 2015 has since been extradited from his base in Budapest, Hungary, to his homeland Portugal.

It is understood Pinto who worked under the name John was said to have got 70 million documents, including personal mails of clubs.
