Odion Ighalo has arrived Manchester from Shanghai after making a winter move from his Chinese Super League club on deadline day.

Much has been said about the Nigerian striker from players and fans since the ex- Watford star signed a six month loan move to Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old traveled for almost 16 hours from his base in China to arrive at the airport and he was caught up with a journalist who asked him about his move to the Manchester club.

"It's been crazy. Let me first of all say I'm happy to be in Manchester first and this is a great opportunity for me," he told Football Daily.

"I'm grateful to God and to my agent, the coach (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) that gave me the opportunity to be here.

"I'm happy to be here to work hard with the team and finish very well in the season."

The former Granada striker was asked what its like to be a Man United player and Ighalo gave a heartfelt response.

"It's a dream come true because since I was a kid I've always dreamed about Man United. This is reality now, i can't even say till when i get started."

Ighalo was also asked if he would lace up his boots and begin training with his new teammates immediately.

"Today is to just chill because I traveled very long from Shanghai to Manchester. Today is rest and tomorrow is work," he responded.

Man United will be observing the winter break but will return to action against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and Ighalo is expected to make his debut.
