Tennis star bursts into tears during walkout as he wears Kobe Bryant's iconic jersey to Australian Open game (video)

Amid plethora of emotional tributes, Australian professional tennis star Nick Kyrgios has joined the teeming legion of sports celebrities to mourn the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant.

Kyrgios wore a retro of the deceased NBA legend's jersey on his walkout ahead of his much-anticipated game against Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open.

Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas California including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna alongside three other people aboard on Sunday night, January 26.

The NBA legend was on his helicopter when the incident happened, with the tragedy plunging the fraternity of sports into mourning as tributes keep pouring in for the dimmed stars.

The entire sporting world has since then been plunged into mourning with football star including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar paying their shares of last tribute to the late NBA star

And Kyrgios, who once described himself as a great fan of Boston Celtics-- Lakers' historic rival--, put rivalry apart when he wore Bryant's iconic jersey on his walkout ahead of Nadal clash.

In Nigeria, celebrities like Falz, Toke Makinwa, Davido, Peter Okoye, Basketmouth, Mercy Aigbe, Mike Ezuruonye, and others took their Instagram page to pay their respect to the deceased father and daughter.
