Arturo Vidal has taken legal action against Barcelona for £2million unpaid bonuses, reports in Spain claim.
The Chilean international was eligible to the bonuses based on minutes played and performances when he signed from Bayern Munich.
And the 32-year-old old played 53 matches for La Blaugrana, helping them win La Liga and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
But Vidal's lawyers claim the defensive midfielder is being owed £2m after playing 60 per cent of all games for Enersto Valverde's side.
However according Spanish news media outfit ABC, Barcelona claim the former Juventus midfielder did not reach the minimum of 45 minutes per game and his lawyers have misinterpreted the clauses in the contract.
It is understood that Vidal is ready to receive half payment but the Catalan giants have refused which has led to legal proceedings by the player's lawyers.
Vidal claims he is being owed a total of £3,500,637 but he has only received £1,446,388 so he now hopes the court will be able to recover his money.
The Chilean has played just five matches in La Liga this season since the arrival of Frenkie de Jong in the summer.
He angrily left training earlier in the month when he discovered he was not in Valverde's starting XI to face Real Madrid.
Reports claim Vidal's former boss at Juventus Antonio Conte is keen to bring him to Inter Milan in January for a fee reported to be around £17m.
