Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are in a transfer battle to sign Lille and Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen, according to reports.

Osimhen, 20, only joined Ligue 1 club Lille last summer but is already attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed a superb start to his career at Lille, scoring 16 goals and making three assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.

His form has caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, with Sky Sports claiming Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham are all plotting January moves.

Blues boss Frank Lampard was not expected to be able to sign any players next month but Chelsea's transfer ban was lifted two weeks ago.

That has paved the way for a spending spree at Stamford Bridge, with Lampard keen to bolster a squad that has struggled in recent weeks, losing four of their last five Premier League games.

Liverpool are also expected to sign one or two players to help sustain Jurgen Klopp's title charge, with Red Bull Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino edging closer to a move to Anfield.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are considering their options ahead of Jose Mourinho's first transfer window in charge since he replaced Mauricio Pochettino as manager.

The English clubs face a battle to secure Osimhen's signature, however, as Sky Sports say the 20-year-old is expected to stay at Lille for the rest of the season unless a superb bid is offered.

Osimhen is said to be happy in France and focussed on helping Lille - currently third in Ligue 1 - qualify for next season's Champions League.

Discussing Chelsea's plans ahead of the January transfer window, Lampard said last week: 'We want a top calibre of player who can improve us.

'I will recommend players who can help us. I want players who want to come here and win and be a Chelsea player.'
